Ms Marvel/Warbird (I prefer the Warbird moniker actually) is one of my favorite characters, but I wish her back story wasn't so convoluted. I don't HATE her current costume (reference: [link]), but I do definitely think that it could use some changes. Recently I've been checking out the Dresden Codak tumblr [link] a lot and I noticed he redesigned Ms Marvel recently. I liked the look, but I thought it was maybe a bit too far a departure from the current look. So I decided to come up with my ideal look for the character!

Most importantly I think is getting rid of the thigh high boots and the long gloves. So instead we have short gloves and a full body suit, which is a bit more uh... modest and probably more comfortable I'd imagine. The short gloves, elbow wraps and boots are taken from her more utilitarian outfit she wore when she actually went by the name Warbird, and the star icon on her chest is from her red/bare belly outfit. I think the star works better as an iconic symbol than the S/lightning bolt that she's currently got, mostly because it's really hard to get the bolt to look right and it seems like nobody ever knows what the hell it is.

So yeah, this was just a sketch I did of the outfit, I might try and do some painting practice of her in action soon, since I'm pretty happy with this. Really hoping Marvel takes note of the Dresden Codak stuff going on recently and makes some changes.
