It's the final four in the tournament over at , and the challenge this round was to create an all new Fantastic Four, BUT: each member of the team had to be from a different universe. This was definitely one of my favorite challenges, and I did quite a bit of thinking. Short explanation: Goliath, Lilith, Sokka, and Motoko Kusanagi. Wish me luck!

Some extra explanation about my choices, if you're interested (Fair warning, this is going to be long and nerdy).

Since the original FF is supposed to represent the four elements (Earth, Air, Fire, and Water) I wanted to try and fit that mold if I could. My Earth and Fire choices were pretty easy, but Water and Air were much tougher for some reason.

Earth - Goliath (Gargoyles) Taking the place of the Thing we have Goliath. While the massive gargoyle might not be as physically strong as Ben Grimm, he's much more mobile and probably just as intimidating. To be a fully functional member of the team he'd need some way to avoid turning to stone each day, maybe a spell or an invention that would allow him to turn once a month or so.

Fire - Lilith the Siren (Borderlands) Lilith takes over for Johnny Storm. Not only is her phoenix ability similar to the Torch's powers, but she's got the most firepower on this team in general, not to mention the killer attitude. Guns, guns, and more guns. Lilith's the go-to girl here if you want something blown up, set on fire, electrically shocked, or melted. Like, with acid.

Air - Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in the Shell) This one took me a while. I initially cast an adult Aang in this role, but I thought the air connection would be too obvious. Instead I went with Motoko because her stealth ability is similar to Sue Richards' powers. Her role on the team is primarily one of stealth and espionage. She steals information and eliminates targets before disappearing into the night. That said, her combat ability is not to be scoffed at, and her camouflage plays heavily into her fighting style there as well.

Water - Sokka of the Southern Water Tribe (Avatar:The last Airbender) Took me the longest to choose this role, but I was really happy when I thought of Sokka. This is an older Sokka than we've seen in the tv series. Early 30's, I'd say. He's a battle hardened warrior now, and both his physical and tactical prowess have made him a well respected commander. On the surface he's the least powerful member of this team, but Sokka's spent his entire life fighting against, and alongside, people more powerful than himself (not being a bender, and all). He knows how to coordinate a strong team, and maybe more importantly he knows how to take down opponents with fantastic abilities. He takes the role of leader here, which is impressive considering Goliath and Motoko are strong leaders in their own right.
